Maryann has trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Gestalt Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing. She works with the assessment and treatment of adult clients who are experiencing clinical levels of anxiety, chronic pain and depression as well as general personal and lifestyle issues such as coping with loss, grief and ongoing stress. More recently, she has become very interested in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) which focuses on exploring clients’ heart-felt values and paths of actions to achieve their goals at the same time as learning important skills to manage difficult thoughts and emotions.
